A few words about me...
I have been a Social Worker for over twenty-five years. Currently I see individuals, couples, or families in my two private practices. Over the years I have also conducted many groups. The primary focuses of my groups are managing stress, coping with life, and learning to use the mind/body/spirit connection to keep a positive outlook, especially when the going gets rough.
I am a former junior high school teacher, and still have teaching in my blood stream. I have written and presented workshops for a variety of organizations and agencies on many aspects of parenting, stress management, burnout, couples' success, and life- coping tools.
In my local school district in Maine, I am a social work consultant within the Special Services Department. In that role I assist teachers in developing behavior plans for student success; help teachers and parents cope with behaviorally and emotionally challenging kids; and offer consults and workshops to staff for most effective results in dealing with academic success.
While I have a special interest in the issues of single mothers, and am writing a book for single moms, my passion is in helping all parents and kids. What is more important than raising emotionally healthy young people? And who can do this better than emotionally healthy parents?
