A few words about me...

I am an Associate Professor of Family and Human Development at Arizona State University. My areas of expertise include adolescent development, cultural socialization, and identity development. A lot of my research has focused on Latino adolescents and parents. In my research I try to understand how adolescents develop an understanding of their ethnicity, the role that family members play in this process, and whether adolescents' feelings about their ethnicity are associated with important developmental outcomes such as their self-esteem and other indices of psychosocial adjustment.
