What the Expert Says:

I hear your concerns. Typically, at age 1 y, a child should be able pull  up to stand, walk along furniture, and maybe even take first steps.  By 14 months of age babies usually start walking independently. Has he been seen for a physical yet?  You should talk with his pediatric provider about his development asap.  Perhaps all he needs is some help achieving motor skills. However, you should discuses his development with his health care provider to rule out more serious causes of developmental delays.

Best regards.
