My 3 year old son has NEVER had a solid bowel movement. Is this normal?

His stools have always been very soft and mushy. They are never even close to forming any hard. He is turning 4 in June and I am very concerned. Please help!

What the Expert Says:

What comes out depends on what goes in.  If he is eating a soft diet with lots of juice etc...he will have soft stools. Solid stools are formed by fat and fiber in the diet which many three year olds don't consume. Take a look at his diet and discuss this with your pediatrician.
