Q:

I'd like to know: do Arizona schools teach about black history in the schools during Black History Month?

"If they don't, they should because we as a people are relevant. Our history deserve to be taught to our young people as well as to other cultures."

Asked by Kim after reviewing the article, "Civil Rights Reads for Black History Month":

Hi Kim,

You can find the phone numbers for Arizona schools in SchoolFinder:
www.education.com/schoolfinder/

Education.com offers a Black History Month info center with free resources for teachers and families. Please feel free to share the URL with the Arizona schools you talk with:

I totally agree with you that it should be taught at least during the Black History Month. However, the way students are taught is also very important. If they are  only asked to read the chapter in a book or listen to some boring lecture, it is useless. After this they will be probably asked to write an essay, but it is not motivating at all and they all likely ask online specialists for writing help. Young people need some more inspiring way of getting knowledge and if we give them freedom to prepare this college project, they will definitely make something special.
