Concernedin... asks:

Should we buy a guide for the high school entrance exam?

My 13 year old son will be entering 9th next school year and we have narrowed his choices of Catholic  Schools to 3.  Just wandering if anyone has any insight on whether it's worth buying the High School entrance exam guide to assist him in preparing for the test.

Yes, purchasing an exam guide can help your child prepare for the test. Test guides are effective because they expose your child to the material beforehand and reduce the stress of not knowing what to expect on the test. In general, test preparation is an important part of the test taking process. It is important for you child to feel comfortable and prepared when they are in a competitive test-taking environment.

Don't stop here though, use this an opportunity to impart proper test taking and studying skills that your child can use throughout high school and college.
