What the Expert Says:

Hi -
there are lots of options for people educated in animal science. The field of veterinary medicine employs not only veterinarians but lab workers and staff positions. Agriculture employs people with various skill levels in dairy operations, raising and maintaining livestock, and so forth. Then there is the huge area of wildlife management which also includes educational components, park ranger jobs and so forth. It is a great field. Good luck! Michael Bentley, Expert Panel Member

Greenprof had many great vocations listed with animal science backgrounds. Another could be animal control officer, race horse manager, or even farm animal breeding programs. Most large animal careers do have some ties to veterinarians, but vet tech's are also needed.
