Explain to your child that he will have the privilege of carrying a favorite stuffed animal (no options) to the classroom or where ever he is dropped off (playground, classroom), as long as he goes without crying or kicking. Talk to the teacher, too, about how to best get him into the classroom. If he throws a fit, he does NOT get to carry the stuffed animal. Once he is in the classroom, the animal must stay in his backpack. He will eventually realize that school is cool and he won't need the incentive. You have to be consistent.
