Why can children under the age of 6 months not get the H1N1 vaccination or the flu vaccination?

I'm just curios if there are specific reasons why they picked 6 months as the cut off.

What the Expert Says:

It has to do with the ability to build immunity.  Newborns rely on mom's circulating immunity for weeks to months after birth.  Studies showed that six months was a reasonable cutoff.
