Compound Machine Help

Hi there. I'm in 9th Grade and have a project to do, in a short amount of time at that. The project is to create a compound machine out of at least six simple machines. The machine should accomplish a simple task in at least 20 steps (that's for an A, I can go lower than 20 but I'm not).

Anyway, I can't think of a task, or if I do, I can't think of a logical way to make it happen. I'm thinking of making an elaborate nutcracking machine, but I'm not sure where to start. Common household items to use as simple machines would help, and any other suggestions as well too. Thank you, and I have a little less than two weeks to do this-so something fast and simple will really help. Thanks!
