Speak with your school's principal or the director of special services.  children recovering from such surgery are often taught at home or in the hospital if it is a prolonged stay. All your neurosurgeon has to do is certify the need for home instructions.

Ther are some state funded public school options like k12. HOMESCHOOL CAN ALSO BE DONE ON A BUDGET.
