This is a tough question to answer in many ways.  Yet it is also fairly straight forward as well.  First and foremost the key decision is related to safety and security. From your child's friends to dating to other activities, you as a parent should gather enough information to make an informed decision about the safety of your child.  If you do not feel comfortable about your child's safety, err on the side of caution.

This can be very upsetting to your child and thus it is important to talk through the reasons why you are making a decision.  Just make sure you make a decision about safety that passes the 'smell' test!
