rick1000 asks:

How can we better educate parents and teachers with kids struggling to read that the problem may be a perceptual one, like Irlen Syndrome?

My son has a visual processing disorder, we were fortunate enough to discover this on our own.  BUT, many kids who have trouble reading are never tested for such problems.  It's assumed that it's comprehension or that the child is lazy or ADHD.  Schools and parents should know about Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome (aka Irlen Syndrome).  It affects thousands of kids.
