What the Expert Says:

Hello!   You should be able to find out the school assigned for children in your neighborhood by calling the central office of your town's school district.  Are there neighbors who have school age children? Ask them if you are friendly with them.   Or, go to the school closest to your home and check with them.  If you have time,  visit the school closest to your home as it's likely that would be your assigned school. Meet some of the staff, especially the principal, to get more information about the school.   You'll learn a lot about their educational curriculum, special programs, expectations for children, how parents can be involved and other unique qualities and services.  Feel free to ask questions and share any of your concerns.  All schools and their staffs want their students to grow and thrive.  Best wishes for a successful and enjoyable school year for your child!  Keep on learning!
