Q:

How does your family celebrate April Fools' Day? Have favorite activities, crafts, pranks or gags that are appropriate for elementary school children?

I'm looking for April Fools' Day activities, crafts, pranks or gags that are fun for elementary school children, without being mean-spirited or embarrassing to the child. I also don't want to do anything that would be traumatic (such as scaring a child with bad news that isn't true), or that would seriously disappoint the child once the truth was revealed (such as telling the child that he/she was going to get a cool new pup and then delivering a cold hot dog).

What are some other ways to celebrate this day with children? Thanks for sharing your ideas!

I came across this "Faked Potato" craft, and think I may need to 'serve' this for dinner tomorrow night!
