I'm looking for April Fools' Day activities, crafts, pranks or gags that are fun for elementary school children, without being mean-spirited or embarrassing to the child. I also don't want to do anything that would be traumatic (such as scaring a child with bad news that isn't true), or that would seriously disappoint the child once the truth was revealed (such as telling the child that he/she was going to get a cool new pup and then delivering a cold hot dog).

What are some other ways to celebrate this day with children? Thanks for sharing your ideas!
