momz asks:

if glycerin (ingredient in soap) is warmed on a stovetop as opppossed to a microwave will it have the same affects? whats the difference?

my daughter is working on her science project. she is going to compare the difference between warming glycerin on a stovetop on lowheat and warming it in the microwave in da 30 second intervals its needed. is there a big difference between the two? will the glycerin burn on stovetop?

This sounds like a very interesting science project.

What does your daughter think will happen with the glycerin in the microwave vs. the stove top? That is the hypothesis that she tests by doing the experiment.

Here are a couple science project articles on that you might find helpful:

I would also recommend that you supervise your daughter's experiment, particularly given the use of the stove top.

Good luck - I hope all goes well and it is a fun, educational experience for you both!
