ConcernedMom7 asks:

Is it illegal in Massachusetts to withhold recess because of missed work or misbehaving?

At first the school would just withhold the first 10/15 minutes but now they are withholding the whole thing. He has ADHD along with spacial, textural and behavioral disorders. I think withholding it just makes him more hyperactive in the afternoon. Does anyone know if it is illegal and if not, what could be an alternative to missing recess?? Any input would be appreciated.

No it is not illegal, however I do think 10-15 minutes is to long. Kids do need some kind of play.
