I would say the answer is a resounding "Yes!" In addition to general information you pick up in the classroom (math, reading, science, history, geography), there are many soft skills to be learned as well. Things such as how to interact with your classmates and elders, how to resolve conflict with other students, appropriate social norms, etc etc. Many of the things you learn both inside and outside the classroom apply when employed.
