How long do the different components of the H1N1 vaccine (ie. adjuvent) stay in the body? Do they get excreted out of the body, and when?

I am a healthcare worker in Canada and received the H1N1 vaccine with adjuvent, but am hoping to become pregnant. I was wondering if/when the components of the vaccine leave the body. If the vaccine stays in the body for the duration of the immunity, or if your own immunity/antibodies take over as the vaccine components leave the body. Thanks a lot.

Dear Diana:

The killed virus stimulates an immune process of forming antibodies to the virus. The only components of the vaccine to remain in the body is the expected immunity. Fillers etc in the manufacture are excreted fairly promptly. Please check with your vaccine provider in Canada since the vaccine does have adjuvent which the US vaccine did not. Your medical provider may be able to tell you from the lot you received.
