My name is Norbert Dean Haase and I was a freshman at Kodiak High School the year the swimming pool was opened. I know for a fact that Mrs. Nell Waage was a very powerful advocate to get the pool approved for construction. Mrs.Waage was an employee at the Daily Mirror newspaper and used her position to aid in swaying public sentiment in the pro build direction. There was a great deal of opposition that she was able to crush over time. That pool has been a very good community asset. That pool should be named in HONOR of Mrs. Nell Waage.
