Are you referring to student loans? All loans that are taken out in your name will remain your debt. However, if you are talking about tuition going directly to the school, your child will probably not be allowed to return unless tuition is paid, either by her or her parents. In this situation, an in-depth discussion of family finances and the future, between parents and child, is in order before any drastic action is taken.

Well, I think that debt can not carry forward to the child because it's your debt and you should pay it off.If you want to quit paying I think the best thing you can doi is to apply to financial advisor who can detailly tell you what will happen with your debt and what kind of consequences you should expect for.So if you can not proceed paying off the debt then you should get a consultation about your loan to find a solution of this problem. Now there alternative ways to pay off the debt, so if you will pay attention to that probably you will be able to proceed making payments.
