It is difficult to provide an answer without understanding the type of special education needs of your child.  Various types and levels of special education categories will help determine the answer to your question.

However, if you have concerns about the excessive amount of work your child is experiencing, you must initially go to his/her teacher(s).  Start by communicating your concerns with the teacher and try to understand how the answers apply positively to your child's future success.
