Hi, has an extensive catalog of preschool activities and crafts here:

If your event involves the grandparents doing crafts with the kids, here is an activity you could consider that pairs the loved ones up for portraits: (Note: while originally created for Valentine's Day, it can be used for any occasion really.)

If you're making gifts for the grandparents, here are some ideas:

Homemade Potpourri:

Straw Flower Bouquet:

Thank You Frame:

Decorated Fridge Magnets:

I hope this helps. Have a great event and thanks for asking!

I realize this is cutting it short for you but this is what I did.  We started preschool this week and prior to class beginning I send out little packages adressed to all the kids, in them I include two letters addressed to the parents then one special letter addressed to the child.  I also included this year two blank envelopes with the instructions for the parents to fill out with the grandparent's names and addresses.    We then painted our hands green on the palm of their hands then some bright flowerery color on their fingers then pressed it onto white contruction paper.  placed a cut out heart on the page with this poem
A Piece of Me
A Piece of me I give to you:
I painted this flowers to say “ I Love You”
The heart is you, the hand is me
To show we are friends, the best there can be
I hope we’ll save it and look back someday
At the flower we shared on your special day.
not sure who the author is but the grandparents will love it.
