Do preschoolers need to be enrolled in a school in order to obtain an evaluation?
Just wondering what others have experienced in terms of district requirements regarding the need to have preschool children with possible delays registered before they are able to obtain an evaluation.

I have a friend whose daughter has developmental delays and they were able to get an assessment before she was enrolled in preschool. Have you checked with your pediatrician? He/she should have information on early intervention services. I think that is where my friend started.

Check with your peditrician first. Most schools will test at age 3 without the child being enrolled. At the age of 3 is when most programs start. Good Luck!
