What the Expert Says:

Where a family enrolls a child at any time is a very personal decision.  But most families enroll their children in private schools because (1) they can afford it, (2) they believe their private schools are academically better, (3) they want their children to benefit from a particular religious vent, (4) the private school in their area may have a high college preparation rate and that is one goal of the family, (5) if their child is in need of stricter discipline or supervision, they believe that private schools may provide that...(6) their friends and family does that so there is the pressure of continuing the tradition.
There may be many others.
