RainyT13 asks:

Schools across the Nation that are good with Autism

Help!  I just recently moved to Illinois from Arizona and may need to now move again.  In Arizona my children had State funded scholarships because of Autism and the lack of support in the public school system. I strongly recommend not moving to Arizona if you have children with special needs because the public schools are horrible and poorly funded by the federal government. Also...I feel it necessary to mention that avoid Gateway Academy at all costs if choosing a private school for children on the spectrum. Because of a medical issue one of my sons needed to move where there is more humidity, so we moved back to our hometown of Illinois.  I was just told last week that Illinois has the worst services for disabilities in the Nation other than one other State by a social worker working on my case.  I feel like I need to consider moving to a State that has better services for my kids but also therapeutic day schools that offer the support they need while at school.  My sons did so well in the private therapeutic day school and I just want to give them the best I can.  Money is a concern too because I am disabled....so they need to offer scholarships to make this affordable for me. I heard Florida has a scholarship program, but I am open to hearing any information about any State.  Please tell me anything you can, as it will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance for responding and good luck to you all.  Being a parent sometimes can be really challenging these days.
