Why is my toddler showing anxiety separation for his father who left him at 6 months old and only has him 2 days a fortnight?

What the Expert Says:

Little children find it natural to have a mom and dad in the same house. That's why little ones (under the age of 8) find is easier to accept a stepmom or stepdad than an older child or teenager.

Encourage your child to talk about how he misses his dad.  Encourage phone calls, or skype visits (free) during the time between visits.

Ideally, children need both mom and dad.  It's great that you have arranged these visits, even though they are not very often.
