Q:

I'm very worried,my parents are raising my grandson they are both very dysfunctional how can I help my 5 yr old Grandson?

Recently I asked a question about my 5 yr old Grandson's anger problem. My Parents are aging and my Father is an alcoholic, abusive emo no longer physical. There is no way I can reason with my Mom about my grandson's anger problem. She thinks it isn't serious.Well as I have two bros.married, both phys/emo abusive still.one is an alcoholic the other addicted to pot.two sisters with husbands who have abusive backgrounds.I don't want history to repeat itself!I am now talking and sharing a feelings chart with my grandson. He & I brainstormed ideas that he could use when angry.I told my mom my ideas  she didn't say anything. My mom has custody I don't! What should I do??

What the Expert Says:

From your description sounds that your grandson is in a very dysfunctional environment that may not be conductive to a safe and healthy development for any child.  Your grandson clearly needs help with his mental health.  If you cannot get him help and you think that his environment is harmful to him emotionally, physically, or in any other way, you may need to contact the local child protective services for assistance.

Best regards.
