Facts: Lettuce is the second most popular vegetable in the U.S., second only to potatoes. Before refrigeration, huge quantities of ice were mounded on top of crisp head lettuce to keep it cool during shipping. This gave it the appearance of an iceberg. Hence the current name.
 
Serving Size: 1 cup

Selection: Choose heads with fresh, clean outer leaves and compact inner leaves.

Storage: Rinse head upon purchase; dry on paper towels. Refrigerate in plastic bag for use within 1 week.
