South Carolina

The Melba McKenzie Scholarship

The South Carolina Consortium for Gifted Education has established a scholarship in Melba McKenzie’s memory. Melba was the coordinator/teacher for gifted students in Hampton 2 (Estill) and a vocal advocate for gifted education. The scholarship provides up to $750 for a gifted student, currently in grades 6-8, to attend a summer program for academically gifted students. For information visit www.scgifted.org/index.html.

Tennessee Association for the Gifted (TAG) Student Scholarships

TAG is pleased to offer summer scholarships to Tennessee's gifted students for camps, institutes, and other educational opportunities. TAG asks that parents and teachers recommend deserving students to the selection panel. For information visit www.tag-tenn.org/scholarships.html.

Texas

Texas Association for the Gifted and Talented (TAGT) Student Summer Scholarships

TAGT Student Scholarships are designed for those gifted and talented students who wish to attend academic or artistic programs during the summer months. The scholarships are in amounts ranging from $100 to $300 and are available for students, K-12. From the scholarships awarded, one elementary student and one secondary student are chosen as Ann Shaw Scholars and receive $500 each. Applications and nomination forms are made available to Full, School/Business and Lifetime Members of TAGT each January in the annual publication, Insights. Washington

Washington Association of Educators of the Talented and Gifted (WAETAG) Summer Scholarships

Washington Association of Educators of the Talented and Gifted (WAETAG)WAETAG offers summer scholarships to students who wish to attend a summer program designed for highly capable students. $300 scholarships will go to students, in grades 4 through 12, who will most benefit from the summer learning experience and are willing to commit to the work involved in a university-based program. Students awarded scholarships must use the money to attend a gifted summer program at a four-year institution. For information visit www.waetag.org/scholars04.htm.

Wisconsin

Wisconsin Association for Talented and Gifted (WATG) Student Scholarships

WATG offers scholarships for students in Wisconsin to attend out-of-school experiences. Each scholarship will pay for up to one-half the cost of the program, but not to exceed $100. For information visit www.focol.org/watg/.
