What are the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks?

The Curriculum Frameworks are of high quality, results driven, and focus on world class standards. What is important to remember is that each of the curriculum frameworks will always be considered as works in progress, and we will continue to refine them to strengthen them and to keep them current. Local communities will use the frameworks to develop more specific curriculum. The Department of Education will base the new student assessment program on the frameworks.

Example Curriculum Framework: High School Earth and Space Science

Energy Resources in the Earth System: Recognize, describe, and compare renewable energy resources (e.g., solar, wind, water, biomass) and nonrenewable energy resources (e.g., fossil fuels, nuclear energy).

How do I Find the Massacusetts Curriculum Frameworks?

Curriculum frameworks are available for Arts, English Language Arts, Foreign Languages, Comprehensive Health, Mathematics, History and Social Science, Science and Technology/Engineering, and English Proficiency Benchmarks for PreK through Twelfth Grade.

I was told that the age requirement was going to be extented this fall of 08. My daughter was born Oct 20 th of 03, she will be 5 a month after school starts. Is she going to be able to start school this year? I personaly think she is ready, but I also do understand that months can make a difference in a childs larning skills. I feel that a month would not put my daughter in that type of position as she has been at kinder care for three years now. Is there a way I can get her in..? I feel that the standards are sort of unfare to us parents trying to move forward. Day care averages about 80$ a day. If these schools are not allowed to except these children, then i feel there should be a program that kids should be allowed to enter through the elementry system. Such as a pre school program, as parents are also getting a hold put on their lives as well as their childrens education.
