Lime and Watermelon Granita

Lime and Watermelon Granita
King County, Washington

(makes 6-8 servings)

Ingredients:

  • 6 limes, juiced
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed

Directions:

  1. In a small saucepan, bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Using a blender or food processor, purée the watermelon.
  3. In a medium sized bowl, stir in the watermelon, sugar-water and lime juice.
  4. Pour mixture into a 11 x 7 baking dish, cover and freeze for about 4-5 hours.
  5. Remove from freezer, let stand for 10 minutes.
  6. Using a fork, scrape entire mixture until crystals are fluffy. Serve in chilled glasses or bowls.
