- National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (http://www.nctm.org.)—Home page of the professional organization that developed the first curriculum standards. Offers a wide range of resources, including journals, conferences, newsletters, and products, as well as an electronic version of the Principles and Standards document (http://standards.nctm.org/).
- Math Forum (http://mathforum.org/)—Resources for students, teachers, and anyone interested in mathematics education. Among the best: Ask Dr. Math (to answer questions). Problems of the Week (challenges at all levels and for all math subjects), and Discussion Groups (virtual communities interested in math).
- Texas Instruments Resources for Educators (http://education.ticom/educationportal/)—As one would expect, this site includes numerous resources for using calculators and computers in the classroom. It also includes ideas for parents to help their children develop an interest in and comfort with mathematics.
- Math World (http://mathworld.wolfram.com/)—Billed as the "web's most extensive mathematics resource," Math World is a comprehensive, interactive encyclopedia of mathematics. Definitions, diagrams, and explanations of mathematics ideas, concepts, and terms are all explained in detail and with illustrations.
- History of Mathematics (http://www.groups.dcs.st-and.ac.uk:80/-history/)—Biographies, historical topics, even "famous curves" can be found at this comprehensive collection, illustrating how mathematics has developed as a human endeavor.
- PBS Mathline (http://www.pbs.org/teachers)—High-quality lessons, activities, and professional development for teachers addressing mathematics concepts and connections.
