High school portion is notorious for bullying
This school is appropriate for the upper crest of Auburn and Opelika. There is a reason the demographic makeup is majority white, very few minorities can handle the racism that occurs to them. As a former student, not only did I witness horrible acts of bullying and racism, I encountered severe bullying. My belongings were stolen from my locker (customary to not issue locks- looked down upon if ask for a lock) on a number of occasions, due to not being the appropriate name brand (that I couldn't afford), to later be found in the trash or by a janitor (usually a minority). Some students equipped me with a racial slur as a "nickname" after I thanked a minority janitor (I am white). While I tried to "fit in" by engaging in sports, I still experienced resistance from the students because I wouldn't attend house parties, taunt the few minority students, etc. I developed low self esteem, severe depression, and high anxiety during social interactions. I told my parents about the bullying several times, just for them to be told by the school admin/teachers that they didn't witness any bullying (a bold face lie). The more the parent pays, the more your children can get away with. I also witnessed a number of very nice classmates (from other surrounding public schools) turn into spoiled brats to fit in and avoid the bullying.
This school is a total waste of money. The person responsible for the high school is a joke. He cherry picks programs and makes rules to benefit his own kids. If you are not part of the Auburn upper class or recently moved to the area, the people here have no use for you. They just want your money. There are 2 teachers in the HS who pride temselves on how many students they flunk. Never mind teaching students anything, let's flunk a certain percentage to show how smart and important we are. The administration is afraid of them and has no back bone. If you are a sports coach and win a state championship you have total reign of the school even though you have no idea what you are doing but the level of play in the AISA is equal to a mid level rec league so your chances of winning multiple championships is very high. Stay away from LSA!!
