Advent Episcopal Day School

Advent has challenged my children, and by providing them with the structure, the challenge and the skill-set to achieve academically I believe they have been well-served.  

The families served are quite diverse, racially and socio-economically.  The one variable that binds all of us is that we want the best for our children.   The parents are warm and friendly and PTO meetings are well-attended.  

One of Advent's real strengths is the arts program.   Their music program is simply top-notch.   The visual and performing arts are also outstanding.    The weekly chapel in the beautiful cathedral is icing on the cake (yet if your family is not Christian or Episcopal, an opt-out option is not available... be aware.)

Advent's math team, chess team and French team perform well.   The downside of Advent would be that the curriculum, while excellent,  is very one-size-fits-all.  If your child isn't happy working hard at a desk for an extended period, he or she would likely not be a good fit.   A few of the teachers are loving and kind, but many are on the aloof, clinical side.    

The students tend to be uber-high-achievers.   That is who the school recruits and to whom she caters.   If your student fits that profile, Advent would be an excellent choice.
