Central Park Christian Schools Reviews
I have to say that I was quite disappointed with the academics at Central Park Christian. The students are bright, polite (for the most part), and eager to learn. However, the lack of interest shown by the administrator for the best academic education for these students is somewhat baffling. I found that the students are far behind those in public schools. There are no functional academically based organizations i.e., English club, French Club, Scholars Bowl, etc. Sure they claim to offer these organizations, but there are no actual activities held to verify their claim. Students have nothing academically based to strive for such as A.P. classes or even an honors program. Students simply attend school and fail to have the knowledge needed to be ready for college.
The teachers that did show some degree of interest in the students' educations had to spend the vast majority of their time trying to catch them up from being so far behind from previous years. It's just awful. I also noticed that many of the books were very outdated, not containing the ever changing information needed to keep students abreast of new techniques and get them prepared for collegiate studies.
I wish the school much success and it is my sincere hope that it rises from where it now stands to a place deemed worthy of accepting money for education.
My husband and I absolutely LOVE this school! Our son gets to be nurtured and educated not only on an Academic Level but on a Christian Level and that means a lot to our family. Because the classes are small, his math and english skills have greatly improved. Our son enjoys the fellowship and friendship between not only his classmates and fellow basketball mates but also the relationships that have developed with the teachers, office workers, parent volunteers, coaches and especially Dr Parker. We like how he has matured under the school's influence. Our son has always been competitive and an overachiever but we also see where he puts more effort into helping when and where he can and most of all, doing what is right.
My son and I have absolutely fallen in love with, Central Park Christian School. I want to support this school in any way I can. I cannot say enough about Dr. Parker and the facalty because they operates with the spirit of execellence in all that they do. The diverse student atmosphere is awesome. Coming from a public school to a private school with smaller class room provides my child with the individual attention he needs. I voluntered in the office on the first day of school signing up parents for the PTF and I got great response. They get an A+ so far in my book. We Look forward to an successful year and then my son goes off to College.
Thanks for all that you do and remember who you are makes a difference.
