Challenger Middle School
This is a great middle school..Great teachers, facilities and test scores..There isn't bulling or gangs...They offer band/chors as part of their curriculum..The principle sets a good example for the students..I like that she is always encouraging them individually and in speaches..We were concerned that a private school would be needed when we moved here..Happily that wasn't the case..The only thing I would like to see is the ability for 6th graders to join clubs..Thanks Challenger administrators & teachers..

Challenger Middle School
So far, I'm not impressed. The administrative staff, for one thing. They are (for the most part) lazy, and unwilling to go to any kind of length to help either parents or students. This is true in particular for the front office staff. If they spent half the energy actually helping parents/students they spend on deflecting (in particular) parents from speaking to anyone to resolve issues, they would be the most capable, effective staff on the face of the planet. Even registering my child for classes is an adventure in bureaucratic idiocy...
Huntsville City Schools, as well, has a fascist, draconian attendance policy. You are dragged into court for five (5) unexcused absences, and they have a Byzantine, convoluted method for determining unexcused absences. Part of it is to cover their own tails for an incident a few years ago where a woman starved her kids (and didn't send them to school). The other part, I'm sure, is some form of cynical revenue-generating operation...
