Youngker High School Reviews
The freshman teachers are hard on their students but while you put In the effort to learn and listen the tests and assignments are rewarding because I know what they are talking about! I'm a sophomore now and I miss my freshman teachers! This school is a pretty awesome school. Better then my Phx high school!
No cell phones help my child focus more ! I love this school because I know they will protect and support my daughter.
I recommend hard working and ambition students to come here. It is rewarding . I love it here and I'm only a Junior !!!
This is the worst school i have had my children in. My child was having problems in math and failed after asking for help from the teacher over and over with no luck i had to pay for a tutor by then it was too late they failed and had to do summer school or not graduate were we then had to pay 150.00 for this credit .the math teacher failed my child. my child passed in summer school and said it was the first time they had a teacher who helped them to understand math.he failed the math aims and is set to retake it soon and has been told that if he does not pass he will not walk with his class on graduation. this school has stressed my child out and depressed him to the point of dropping out he had such high goals for college and now he just doesn't care he has begged for extra work to help with his grade his teacher does not give make up work or extra credit so he feels there is no hope or point ..
This is a bad to mediocre school. The staff has some gems but is over shadowed by bad teachers. Some teachers just sit on computers and look at email and do't help students(Mozal), others such as Mr. Sifford and Schroer do an amazing job at teaching making it easy to understand. The english department has good teachers like Micah Blaisdell and Brittney Wolfe but sadly the department head (how also teaches) has broken protocol for a student that misses school because of a medical issue by denying him make up work and calling the local police. Probably one of the best teachers is Mr. Jaycox who is head of the arts department and teaches various electives. He is very interative and fair on his grading.
