I think Hamilton high school should be shut down and investigated. My son goes there and one of the kids was making fun of him so he got mad and yes he deserved to be punished and the other kid was too, but they never sent anything home nor did they call to inform us that he was in any trouble. I know when i was in school i once swore at a another kid and i got swats for that i never did that again. Theres too much violence and not enough punishment to make these kids learn a lesson. [I believe] this school is very dishonest they recruit players out of the district so that they can be the best, its really a crying shame. We are teaching these kids how to cheat to win and how to lie to get what you want and you wonder whats wrong with these kids. I tried my best to do whats right for this kid. These schools dont care about him because he is not a good athlete and they could care less what happens to him. Isn't the school supposed to be responsible for the children when they are in class? Are we supposed to be mind readers. I think the world would be better off it just ended, its way to far out of control and there are too many dishonest people in the world. These kids are our future and our future looks very bleak at this point. I am at a loss for words, why weren't we contacted about this incident?
Hamilton is rated one of the best schools in AZ, and very highly country wide. Our experience with the school is that they do extremely well with sports (esp. football), and the academics are pretty good. However, teacher-parent and school-parent communications are not good. We are frequently surprised at upcoming academic events that were not communicated to our student or to us in a timely fashion, and have had difficulty getting information we need to help our student be successful. Additionally, some of the grading practices and class organization practices have caused our student to be discouraged from doing her best, and inquiries about these issues have not been adequately addressed. Hamilton does not employ some of the innovative programs available in the Gilbert school district to encourage college attendance and facilitate student excellence.
