anonymous-az: This is a terrible school. At one time this was a very good school until the owner/principal turned the school over to his daughters who are running it into the ground. They are in way over their heads and are very unprofessional, spiteful, and are not there for the best interest of the children's education - it is all a facade. The principal/daughter presently at the East campus was at the new Queen Creek campus last year, and after the first year half the teachers are no longer there (quit). The two daughters are not qualified to be school administrators and behave like spoiled children and can't be trusted. Trying to communicate with the principal via email and over the phone to express a legitimate concern will only backfire. She acts as if you are the bad guy and will talk behind your back (we parents talk, teachers talk with parents.... word gets around). The reviews below are spot on. I feel terrible for the teachers. Our child's teacher is good and tries hard...but you can tell moral is bad throughout the school and I can't imagine what it would be like working for the principal. Time to look for another school...

Francis: This school is awful. The communication between staff and parents is horrible. They leave their families in the dark about everything unless it directly results in them making money (fundraisers and such).

My child attends Cambridge East. We have attended this school for the past year. The curriculum is great with no complaints on the education my child has received here. Now on to everything else. If you are a parent looking to place your child here let it be known the ALL the BAD reviews on here are dead on. The playing field has 2 sewage leaks coming up on to the field where the kids play. Has not been fixed since we started there. If you have issues or questions what is being said they do not respond and you will always be the bad guy. They will take this out on your child they will never give them the benefit of doubt. The communication does not exist. If you need a response none will be given. You will sit for 30+ min & never talk to the princapal.Every thing is last min. You must pay for lunches in advance which is the day before they r due. They expect you to participate in every fundraiser, their are 4 a month every month and going on at the same time. If your child is new to the school and did not start in kindergarten then your child WILL be singled out amongst the staff and students with no chance to defend them self’s. This School is a NIGHTMARE. We will not return.

I love this school! My children are getting a great education and the teachers offer after school tutoring. I feel like the administration could be a little more proactive and organized but overall, a fantastic school!

I think this school has the potential to be a good school but they have a very unorganized leadership in the school and for being so small, they don't really work with the students and their individual needs. The PTO is 7 parents doing everything with no administration support and the teachers think they do enough without spending more time helping to raise money for their field trips and supplies. Overall it was a frustrating experience and for all the sacrifices parents make to send their children there, it was not worth it!

About the TERRANOVA
What is it?
The TerraNova is a series of nationally norm-referenced tests that assess general academic knowledge in core subjects, as well as providing national comparisons.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students in grades 2 through 9 are assessed in reading, language arts and math.
How is it Scored?
Students receive a percentile rank, which indicates how well they performed in comparison to their peers in other states. The goal is for all students to score at or above the national average, or 50th percentile, on the test.
