Paramount Academy
Good, small school - diverse student body in spite of its smallness, too. Discipline is enforced (at least in the younger grades; I can't speak for the older ones yet) and standards are reasonable. Love that they require uniforms! So far, teachers have been great - they really seem to know my daughter's strengths and weaknesses as an individual and while I'd like her to be a little more challenged, I feel like she is learning and has emerged a very strong reader. Principal is very caring and communicates with parents well. For the younger grades at least, this is a good local alternative to overcrowded public schools with myriad discipline issues. I feel like this school upholds my family's values.

Tyler: I have spent the past 9 years at this school and have enjoyed the time I've been there....the teachers are fantastic and I recommend the school to all.

What is it?
The TerraNova is a series of nationally norm-referenced tests that assess general academic knowledge in core subjects, as well as providing national comparisons.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students in grades 2 through 9 are assessed in reading, language arts and math.
How is it Scored?
Students receive a percentile rank, which indicates how well they performed in comparison to their peers in other states. The goal is for all students to score at or above the national average, or 50th percentile, on the test.

Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
