About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. Westwind Preparatory Academy Reviews
I have hosted international students who attended this school after our own children were grown. I was impressed with the help that the students received from teachers. The teachers didn't lower their expectations, they simply offered additional help for the international students. Our students enjoyed participating in sports and student council, as well as attending events like Prom. It was great to see all the local students interacting with students from so many different countries. Our own children attended a large public high school. We liked their school, but if I had to do it over again, I think I would send them to a small school like WPA.
