this is a horriable pick for your child

By a Former Student on

This school  is the worst school you can choose, the staff do not care about the students. there are things you learn there but the care is not shown much at all, they restrain you there too wich i do not agree with they have a peer run culture and its not helpful the staff are horriable there. do not send your child here send them to a much better place that will be less harmful. its hard to work on yourself when you are worried about how staff will treat you everyday

Horrible!!

I attended this school when I was about 16years old. I am now 26. As a child I suffered tons of Trama and Abuse. My mother abandoning me at the age of 13 and staying with my step dad after he was malesting me. I than become very troubled and adicted to meth. I got sent here. There were times where I would get a little angry and next thing I know I'm being slammened on the ground and my glasss broken off my face. I needed to go to a place where they show lots of love. I was 10x angry after my reall dad took me out of Mingus. Today I'm now clean going to school to become a drug and alchol counseler. Maybe they have better staff now hmmm.

Mingus Mountain Academy is amazing!!! It changed my life and my view of the world. I just successfully left with my Mountain Lion, a day after my 18 birthday. Parents if you are considering sending your daughter..... DO IT! Trust me, I was a misbehaved child and now I'm more mature then I have ever been in my life. The staff and doctors are great and very motivated to help out your daughter, niece, cousin, and sister. MMA is the greatest choice you 'll ever make.

I went to Mingus and this was this best place for me. You will change once you get out of this facility. my attitude dropped and everything. You will have major respect for yourself. I was a positive mountain lion for 10 months. It was the funnest experience in my life.

When i was there Dr. D lived up the hill and miss betsy was the horse lady. I'm not sure how it is now but it definitely helped me in my life. I still have friends I met there..

I am living out of state and am sending my 15 year old daughter to this facility for treatment.  She has been at a behavioral treatmenhe t center in the past which was unsucessful.  I am impressed by the fact they gear more torwards homeopathic medicine and not pharmaceuticals.  If anybody has any feedback forme r patient/parent please email.  I feel helpless because this was court ordered and I have not even been to the facility yet!
