What is it?
Arizona's Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 are assessed in reading, writing and math.
How is it Scored?
Students score at one of four levels: falls far below standard, approaches the standard, meets the standard or exceeds the standard. The goal is for all students to meet or exceed state standards.

TONY SILVA: The academic standards have definitely turned to the better over the last year. My son has gone from wanting to leave the school to insisting on staying. His disinterest and bored affect/attitude have been converted and his academic performance has now gone to a STRAIGHT A report card, membership to the National Honor Society and his musical skills which demand 6:30 AM practice sessions and commitment are through the roof! He insists the principal has been instrumental in developing a culture of excellence and there seems to be a sincere effort by the staff to meet objectives and stress dicipline, focus and accoplishment of goals. Parents are also infused with the energy... Hopefully, these efforts will come to fruition as evidenced by the next school district rating. Keep up the good work!
