About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. My daughter has been attending ACE the last 2 years and I have to say it was a blessing for us. She has done wonderful and is even going to graduate a year early. ACE is a drama free environment and allows the students to focus on their studies. Your child has to be a very organized individual and self motivated to be sucessful. I recieve reports every week on where my child is on her studies and her grades. I can meet with the teachers anytime, if needed. This school is for mature students that want to be successful and is not just a school to babysit your children. I really feel it has helped my child prepared for her next step... College. And she loves it!
My daughter is a Junior & tried ACE this year. It has been the WORST experience EVER. There is NO communication with the parents. She is going to fail 11th grade because of trying this program. She was doing FINE in the high school except for kids taunting & teasing her. So either put up with the taunting & teasing or fail. Wow. What a choice! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ACE to anyone.
I think this is a great program!
