I think this school is bad for education and student development. The restriction of a football player from scoring touchdowns is harmful to both the player and players on both sides. The student player should not be penalized for trying his best. The rest of the team shouldn't be penalized for doing their best to become the best team the could be either. The opposing teams are subsidized for the inability to compete head to head. The message is, heck, if you aren't good enough, we will just won't let the better players be the best they can be. What kind of a message is this for any student at any age? The adults who enforce this mentality should be removed from public education. As John Wayne once said "life is tough and if you are stupid, it's even tougher," or words thereof.

Sharon Vollett: I am appalled that a school that is supposed to teach children to do there best at all times would mandate that a student do less than he can do. That is lowering the standard to the students that are not capable or not doing their best and requiring the others follow that level. Are you insane? You do not lower one student to make others feel okay, you WORK with the others to strive to do their best, whatever that is, but never lower the standard for those that cannot achieve that level of excellence. How confusing for the gifted child. That is never the goal to lower the level of excellence for a child, bring them up to their highest potential and teach others it is not a competition, but an opportunity for all to achieve and support each other. I hope you come back to your senses and start actually doing YOUR BEST.
