About the CST
What is it?
The California Standards Test (CST) is an annual exam used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards. The CST is one of the five components of the STAR Program.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in grades 2 through 11 in English language arts and math, in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science, and in grades 8, 10 and 11 in history/social science. In grades 9 through 11, students may also be assessed in math and science, depending on course enrollment.
How is it Scored?
Students receive one of five ratings: far below basic, below basic, basic, proficient or advanced. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.

What is it?
The California Achievement Test (CAT/6) is a series of nationally norm-referenced tests that assess general academic knowledge in core subjects, as well as providing national comparisons. The CAT/6 test is one of the five components of the STAR Program.

jennifer billingham: i just graduated from Oak View and now currently go to Galt High School. Oak View was the greatest school that I have ever went to. Not only is this school great, but the teachers and staff are just as great. My teachers Mr. Reece and Mr. Franke were just absolutely wonderful! i Owe my proficient and advanced STAR testing scores to them! But of course it's not only those teachers, it was all my teachers from 2nd through 8th. I always felt welcomed at that school and loved. I never once saw my whole 7 years there not one kid stand alone against the wall. Oak View's kids are the greatest! They make every new kid feel welcomed and comforted their first day! Oak View has a lot of great activities that go on at the school that I have really enjoyed through my 7 years. If your are thinking about enrolling your son or daughter into this school, I would highly recommend this!!!

Samantha Morales: My siblings, myself, and now my neices, nephews and my daughter now go to Oak View. It is a great school. Teachers and staff are excellent. It is a very close community. We choose to be inter-district transfers because of the QUALITY education this school provides that others do not even come close to providing.

Oak View Elementary School
My son has been at Oak View School since Kindergarten and is now in 4th. I love the staff and the parents are all really involve with everything. The lunches are home cooked meals. We have a teachers aid in almost every class and there is only 15 to 20 children per class. We have fun field dates that include all grades work together which is great for this k - 8th grade school. I love Oak View.
