About the CST
What is it?
The California Standards Test (CST) is an annual exam used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards. The CST is one of the five components of the STAR Program.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in grades 2 through 11 in English language arts and math, in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science, and in grades 8, 10 and 11 in history/social science. In grades 9 through 11, students may also be assessed in math and science, depending on course enrollment.
How is it Scored?
Students receive one of five ratings: far below basic, below basic, basic, proficient or advanced. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
About the CAHSEE
What is it?
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) is used to measure student mastery of specific skills as determined by the state. Students must pass both sections of the exam in order to graduate from high school.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Each student is assessed in grade 10 in English language arts and math. Students can retake the exam up to five times after grade 10.
How is it Scored?
The CAHSEE is an untimed pass/fail test. The goal is for all students to pass both sections of the test.

anonymous: There is only one language offered, and that is Spanish. That is understandable considering the community and the location of the school. I've seen several reviews complaining about the lack of "education" for non-English speakers. My advice to those people? Learn proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation before you begin to claim that the school isn't teaching adequately. Priority in the regular classroom is given to (and should be given to!) English speaking students. We live in America. Just a heads up.
Moving on. The classes are interesting, for the most part, and the teachers are amazing. The relationships that they develop with students are wonderful. The balance in the school is off, however. Agriculture dominates in this community. This is understandable but still not advisable. FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), Book Club, Anime Club, and Friday Night Live are also offered. There are plenty of clubs for students to become involved in.
The campus is decent. It tends to get cluttered with trash if the cleaning staff aren't on their toes, something that many would agree is not acceptable. The hallways tend to be filled with wayward students both at lunch and during certain periods.
T.A.s are given exclusive rights, especially the office T.A.s. They are definitely favored, although no one will outright say it. The office (as well as certain teachers) definitely plays the favoritism game. This is mostly ignored, because most people don't want to get on the office staff's bad side.
Overall, this school is okay. If you plan on going here, don't get your hopes up.
