Adms-auburn Discovery Montessori School Reviews
A truly amazing school!
Auburn Montessori is a phenomenal school! From the moment you step foot on campus, you become aware that this is like no other school in town. The grounds are clean with inviting flowers, there is an outside picnic area covered in vines where the children have lunch, and their playground is spectacular. As you walk in the classrooms, you will be amazed at the organization and tidiness of everything.
All of the teachers truly love their profession and it shows. They are all so amazing with the children and you know that they are in great hands while you are away. The curriculum is out of this world. I am amazed on a daily basis by the things that my children tell me that they've learned or things that I see them come home with.
This is definitely a preschool and not a daycare.
Every class has 2 teachers and there is between 15- 20 students per class. There are 2,3, and 5 day/week options as well as half or full days and extend hours for before and after school are available. There are 3 different classes at the school; Prep is for children from the ages of 2-3.5, Children's House from 3-5, and TK/Kindergarten 4-6. Children are placed in the according classroom based upon not only their age, but their skill level and it is always the parents choice. For instance, your 4 year old may be ready for the TK/kindergarten class, but you may want to keep them with children their own age and therefore not move them up until the following year, that's okay. The communication between parents and staff if really great and we all work together to find the best fit for the child.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with the school. When I decided to put my daughter in preschool I checked out every one in town. Nothing was even close to comparable. From the grounds, to the staff, and the curriculum, my expectations have been far surpassed. I'm sure that if you come check them out you will be as impressed as I was and still am.
I think ADMS is a wonderful option for gifted children. The Montessori method lends itself to "follow the child", and most gifted students need the ability to work and learn at their own pace. The school values the child and provides an individualized education while nurturing grace, courtesy, respect and friendship.
