Jon doe: DO NOT send your student here. My son did not get a good education here and I was constantly being called about my son getting picked on by other kids. The school is supposedly good for kids with Autism and on the spectrum but they DID NOT have qualified staff here to deal with that. Instead of dealing with it like they are supposed to they decided to recommend residential school for him which I disagreed to and is even far  worse than Rossiere. The teachers have no clue. They are partly responsible for my son being sent to this horrible place he is in now out of state. DO NOT send your kid to this school, you will be sorry.

To Tell You The Truth, The School Was The Best School I Ever Been To, Never A Dull Moment, I Pretty Much Screwed Every Decent Female Student There, And Screwed Two Teachers. ("Cant Say No Names") But They Know Who They Are ;) VERY AWESOME 2 YEAR EXPERIENCE IN MY YOUNG LIFETIME.. So I Here By Give "Rossier Park School" A Five Star Rating And Two Thumbs Up.

This was the very first school I worked at for my first year as a teacher. I worked there for two years....the usual for most teachers, then they leave for much better schools. Those two years were the worst years of my life. I was constantly attacked emotionaly and physically by the students with no parents/students ever taking any responsibility. It was horrible and hated waking up every morning to go to work. I've been called every name in the book, been punched in the stomach, pushed to where I sprained my ankle, had the wind knocked out of me, hurt my back and even had a student punch out one of my headlights on my car. Again.....with no consequences. Administration did not care and said if I didn't like it to leave. After all this I had one of the best classes on classes and I was the second longest teacher there...pretty sad. It was pretty much a money-making business that district had to pay to have their students end up there. This is, however, where I learned how to be strict, have wonderful classroom management skills and ran my classroom as a type of "bootcamp." It worked. God help  anyone who ever works there....but you have to pay your dues I guess. This school actually makes students' behavior much worse. Please please never send your kids here!!!

H: As a former teacher, It's a generic school. The academic level could be improved. The staff interaction/mediation could be better. Many teachers I worked with quit only after teaching for a few weeks. I wouldn't recommend the school to future students though. I feel there isn't much improve towards children needs, and there are students fighting, staff not doing the right job, and teachers not satisfied with pay, considering what we have to deal with.

Andrew: I was born with autism. I had trouble coping in a normal public school, so I was recommended to come here, as they "supposedly" help students who have autism. Not the case. The school has about 10 or so classrooms with the same number of teachers. A staff member, usually a college student in their 20's, acts as a classroom aide. Long story short, the school has VERY aggressive and hateful students. 75% them are violent/gang members. The staff are very inappropriate. They are mentally and physically abusive towards nonviolent students. Instead of trying to solve a student's issue with the nonhelpful on site therapists, he/she is tossed into an isolation room for the entire school day.  A fight occurred every week, whether it was between student/student, staff/student, even in  some cases staff fought against each other. What really made me upset was how students are transported to school. A select number of staff members drive mini vans to and from the school, which hold about 8 students. Another staff member rides usually in the back seat to monitor the students, but many incidents happen regardless including fights, bullying and etc. The biggest concern is that when you mix students that want to learn, and students who come to school to cause problems and havoc to staff and students, things just don't add up.

Oh I forgot to mention. Every student is stripped search every morning they come to school. Students are told to take their shoes and socks off, and etc.

I went here for 2 years. The worst 2 years in my young life had to be when I was enrolled in this hellhole. Parents, I beg that you send your children elsewhere. Teachers, find somewhere else to work. You will be underpaid, you will not be prepared for these types of students, and you will probably end up quitting like the 80% of the teachers that came here did.

To the parents of the students of Rossier Park, the majority of students that attend this school, IS VERY AGGRESSIVE. Please note that your child behaves differently when your around. At Rossier the staff try their best to prevent others from getting hurt. I was once a staff member there and i was only their for 2 years. There were countless amount of fights where the students would injure each other and staff. My first year, because of separating students, I hurt my ankle really bad to the point that i couldn't walk without crutches for the entire Christmas vacation because the students wanted to have a fight after school. The next year, I broke a small bone in my hand and have a permanent bruise on it along with a stump in my stomach and mouth from another students aggression. The staff try their best with your children. Instead of questioning others, you try to observe the behavior of your own child. Majority of the time, the students learn bad behavior from home.

This is not a very good place to work.  Its the kind of job you only take as a last resort because you really need the income.  The teachers are underpaid considering what they have to deal with everyday.  Most of the administration is very unprofessional and there are not very many staff members you can trust.  Not a very team-oriented atmosphere.

This school has been the worst experience my child has ever had.  The staff is very agressive (hands on) with the students and uses very bad language with them. The program is too general.  If your child has a specific disorder, find a school that specializes more with that disorder so that they are treated properly and are helped in coping with it. I would never recommend this school and staff to another family!
